To get the inheritance, you must have a different spirit. God's spirit is alive in me, it is not a cliche either or something to be studied like a course you have to pass. The Holy Spirit is someone you have to get to know, He is not someone to be used either, He is someone to obey, the third person of the God head.
I am going to be analyzing Psalm 2 and what it means to me.
Why do the nations assemble with commotion
Psalm 2
1 Why do the nations assemble with commotion [uproar and confusion of voices], and why do the people imagine (meditate upon and devise) an empty scheme?
This is God's response when his creation gather together and plan schemes and crafty things similar to what is going on in the north, Boko Haram (BH: secret sect my foot) they are definitely in the leadership or in the top echelons of business in Nigeria, they are definitely not so secret, at least, the funding is not from ghosts and the like. they surprise and amaze God when they do those kind of funny futile things or make decrees that God does not agree with, such decrees can't stand.
2 The
kings of the earth take their places; the rulers take counsel together
against the Lord and His Anointed One (the Messiah, the Christ). They say,
3 Let us break Their bands [of restraint] asunder and cast Their cords [of control] from us.
God goes so far as to say that the kings and rulers gather and take counsel against God and His anointed.
Pause: (When a person comes against the Lord's anointed, they are coming against God, Hmmm, i forgot).
4 He Who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord has them in derision [and in supreme contempt He mocks them].
5 He speaks to them in His deep anger and troubles (terrifies and confounds) them in His displeasure and fury, saying,
God laughs. He laughs because He isn't worried. He laughs because He has everything under control. He then speaks.
6 Yet have I anointed (installed and placed) My King [firmly] on My holy hill of Zion.
7 I will declare the decree of the Lord: He said to Me, You are My Son; this day [I declare] I have begotten You.
He then speaks of His anointed that they are rooted in Zion by Him. That He is our birth Father, the Father of our second birth.
8 Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations as Your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth as Your possession.
9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like potters’ ware.
10 Now therefore, O you kings, act wisely; be instructed and warned, O you rulers of the earth.
He then speaks to the anointed and asks us to ask for the nations and the uttermost part of the earth. Lord, i thank you for your word says that all things are mine, that i am going to have dominion over this world. I thank you for i have dominion in my house and in my estate. Righteousness has reign over my household and over my estate in Jesus name, amen.
11 Serve the Lord with reverent awe and worshipful fear; rejoice and be in high spirits with trembling [lest you displease Him].
12 Kiss
the Son [pay homage to Him in purity], lest He be angry and you perish
in the way, for soon shall His wrath be kindled. O blessed (happy,
fortunate, and to be envied) are all those who seek refuge and put their trust in Him!
God then asks us to serve Him reverently and that we should rejoice. The psalmist closes with the fact that the ones who seek refuge and put their trust in God are happy fortunate and to be envied.
I am just glad that i am among the number that put their trust in God.
