It is the keyword to living a fulfilled life.
You know, those times when you are in fellowship, the presence of God is so strong, and you wonder why God would love you like this.
Then you find yourself making all kinds of promises because His presence is good like that.
God desires that we would serve the world around us. However, we cannot do it in the absence of basic compassion.
If you do good, to great things without compassion, it loses eternal value. It also takes something away from us. We need our hearts to be in a good place so that our fellowship with God is unblocked.
Here is what I feel:
The generation before mine has reached people from the pulpit. I do not feel any pull for the pulpit. My pull is speaking to people one on one.
Although I may not be able to reach multitudes, I believe I will be able to reach one person and set them on fire that they may be able to reach the multitudes from a heart of love.
Lately, I have been thinking about the indwelling of the person of the Holy Spirit. My mind dwells on how vital he is for a victorious Christian life.
Not as a tool.
But as a friend.
I am well versed in all of the ways that the Spirit of God has been used in deceiving people. I am sorry if anyone has ever used the Holy Spirit to take advantage of you in some way.
From the depths of me, I pray that the Spirit of God would comfort your soul and bring healing to your hurts. It was never His intention. The Spirit of God only seeks to magnify Jesus.
Whatever was done to you – painful or deceptive – are the actions of a human being, misguided or otherwise. God has nothing to do with that. The heart of God for you is that you would know Him.
God loves you and yet has good plans for your life. He is a generous Father, gracious and full of mercy. He is goodness. If you have not met Him, you have not yet known goodness. Whatever you do know will pale in comparison with the good plans that He has for you.
The first step in making the world a better place is knowing Jesus. If you know Jesus, you will have compassion.
You will also have the power and the resources to reach out to the people of the world and bring healing.
There are so many hurt people in the world. The ones who are not hurt are numb. Those who are not numb believe in dog-eat-dog.
The behavior of one who is dog-eat-dog does not align with the attributes of the kingdom of God. The bible says that the kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
My prayer for you is that you would know the love of God so that you can be filled to overflowing and have enough love to give to others.
Working with people takes a lot out of you and if you are not filled to overflowing, you are attempting to reach others out of bankruptcy.
Until you have the love of God filling you to overflowing, you would be unable to help the people you come across daily like the Good Samaritan.
The good Samaritan is a type of Jesus.
He saw a wounded man on the street and cross over to him. He tended him and took him to an inn where he paid for all that he needed. Then he went on a journey and promised to come back and that the inn should give him anything he needs. He said, that whatever they used on him when he was away he would reimburse.
There is no other bigger picture of generosity.
Before the Good Samaritan came along, the priest and the Levite had come. What was their response?
They had both crossed over to the other side and left the wounded man on the street to die. Based on their intellectual capacity they had presumed that the wounded man would die so why waste time or resources on him.
This speaks to my heart:
No one can take the place of God in your life.
God is the only one in this life that will believe in you one hundred percent.
He will never give up on you. He will not leave you to die. He will not abandon or leave you unattended. He will pay for anything you will ever need to live and be successful in life.
The priest and the Levite may cross the road to the other side to preserve their traditions.
Christ will cross the road and come to you. He will break traditions, protocols, and the barriers that stand between you and Him to ensure that you accomplish destiny.
You can trust the Lord.
He is your Good Samaritan.
He will tend your wounds seen and unseen. Then he will shelter you and place you in the hands of people who He will instruct to look after you. If there is any expense required to continue your care, He will pay for it.
If you are in a place of uncertainty today, be assured that Jesus Christ is for you. He wants to be there for you. He wants to heal and fill up the broken parts of you.
He wants to give you wholeness in your soul and in your body. Come to Him and trust Him today. Surrender the place of preeminence to the Lord Jesus.
Let Him be the biggest person and give Him the most important place in your life because He is trustworthy.
You can trust Him for life and destiny.
He wants to give you a future and hope. He wants to give you eternal life. Open your heart, stretch out your hands and receive His goodness in your life.
