They deserve to be blogged about

Some people start making waves ever before they have a chance to invent something
Social media will make these girls famous today. I am not sure they counted on the kneeling down with their NYSC certificates would make them stars. Social media has decided that today  they are worth it.

A friend from college made a joke of how they were doing what GMB should have done since. I laughed of course.

Did I tell you about an amazing girl that the Holy Ghost led to Haiti? Awesome story on "Faith Channel", she made my day. Well, she told the story of how she was crying and crying and confused and couldn't understand why she was in Haiti, she spoke of how God led her to a little girl who was trying to kill a bird for food.

Long and short of the story she went to America and when she came back, she miraculously began speaking Haiti language and everyone understood her. I have always believed in miracles long before I was born again and the things of God always amaze me. Read more

I took this photo with my cell phone
Wonders of wonders, she has a blog and a site where you can help make some people's lives better. I call it a kingdom offering. Here is the site here.

Did I tell you that there is a business fair tomorrow at Eko Hotel and that it is free?

Did I tell you that you stand to win iPads?
Did I tell you that you can win printers and flashdrives?
Did I tell you that you can win N3000 off your taxi fare via the technological company that connects people to taxis?
That is N3000 off your first two rides.

Please enough of the marketing, go and register at http://www.connectnigeria.com/bizfair

Have a great weekend. I will. My weekend is packed till Sunday afternoon. No rest this week, it will have to be next week then.

Life is just a whirlwind right now, a whirlwind of good things.

Faith Nuggets: 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”[a]

So I am expecting great surprises...because so is everyone born of the Spirit and I am born of the Spirit so I cannot be predicted.

Just thinking...

Random things going through my mind
Not always coordinated but always creative, mind blowing!

So much is going on in the world and no matter how I try to ignore, as someone in the Arts, I always take notice and I want to express it in some way.

I don't know what I would have done were I her but this little girl inspired me this morning. She has just lost her home but she wants to forgive the militants.

We can all learn a lesson from her. Instead of focusing on what she lost, she's focused on the God who can restore all.

I love blogging and there are some blogs that I stalk all the time. One of utmost value is this one here. I noticed that it is always edifying. You can feel virtue flow from it if you are a believer in that kind of thing and I am. I believe that all Christians based on what they are focusing on can have virtue flowing from them. Let's go there: Hajel's Musings

I read it and I just know that learning to rule your tongue and to have the mind of Christ as you renew daily is one of the greatest things that you can ever do.

I read a book recently. It is called Bridge to Haven by Francine Rivers.

Buy it here

It helped me remember that choosing to believe in the invisible is a personal choice. By the grace of God, I don't want to live any other way. It is the higher life that is much talked about. The beatitudes. Let me get the meaning.

Do you know who the speakers at the business fair are? Me either. Lol. I kid. You can find them here and all the guests at the tweet chats that have been holding every Thursday. You can find them using these hastags #SMENigeria and #CNBizFair

Me and all these my causes and my work. The world is changing everyday and part of it pleases me while part of it saddens me. Lord help us. Cause us to be sensitive to your move and to be alert to your spirit. Help us to be led by our spirit and not our physical senses. help me live that higher life indeed. #Grace

There is a tweet chat happening in one hour. Join in and meet the technology company that gets you taxis at the snap of your fingertips. At good prices. I say so. And I am Ijebu when it comes to paying taxi fare. I want to get the best bargain possible because they are eating out of my car fund.

Join them via #CNBizFair or via these two handles @connectnigeria and @uber_Lagos.www.twitter.com/uber_lagos

Why won't I love my sister? Linda Ikeji will make you think twice about the way you blog.

The Sisterhood of the World Blogger Award

I would nominate LindaIkeji but I don't know her personally. I admire her entrepreneurial traits though. She is a phenomenon. When I left my stable job last year, some people laughed and said, how do I expect to make money from blogging. I think they expected me to come begging after three months of starving. I might not be earning as Linda does currently but I am certainly on my way there.

Doubtless I would not have starved thanks to my Mom and Dad. I listened to all the advice I was given but I didn't take the advice seriously because I desperately needed a change. I was dying of boredom. I needed a challenge.

One lovely blogger who has got a beautiful mind tagged me yesterday. I can be very selective, I hate flattery and false word so I am delighted that I do not lie when I say she has a beautiful mind. She is Fredilia Momodu and I would love to say a huge thanks to her. She is too kind. I met her via my other blog here. My blog is where I express myself as best as I can from time to time.

the rules of the Sisterhood of the World Blogger award are simple, you can only pass it unto a woman is pretty obvious. I accepted yesterday on twitter. My twitter handle is @tessbabee

What is the ten questions?
RULES
1.Thank the blogger who nominated you, linking back to their site
2.Put the awards logo on your blog
3.Answer their ten questions
4.Make up 10 new questions for your nominees
5.Nominate 10 bloggers

Her question:
Borrowing from Aby who stole, sorry borrowed from Ugo "Tell us about a part of you that you struggled with (e.g. a habit, nose, shape, leg) and how you overcame the fear."

MY STRUGGLES
I struggled with being pretty from the time I was 7 years old. I have 5 sisters so you can see how that would be a problem. I grew up with the 5 sisters and I was the tomboy. I excelled at everything guys excelled at and even outdid a lot of them. I could beat them physically at sports, academics, debates, whatnots. I topped that by going to high school 2 years ahead of all my mates.

MY MINDSET
I was perfect at everything except being a woman. I turned 13 and became narcissistic. Ask my sister, I have the capacity to spend about 2 hours in front of the mirror studying my face, my legs, my arms, my hair. You need to ask my high school mates what my hair looked like, I succeeded in convincing them that my hair was just great for me. Why wouldn't it? I gave it 100% care. It may have been scanty but no other hair of head could boast of the kind of care mine underwent. Everywhere I went I was told I was beautiful. I was cute, I looked fulani, I had inner beauty, you just couldn't stop gazing at me. With all this compliments, I would say 'thanks' externally but inside I was not perfect enough for me. I wanted to be perfect. I wanted the perfect A.

BREAKING THE MINDSET
I turned 19 and surrendered my life to Christ, I was getting the compliments still but the picture of who I wanted to be in my head hadn't translated to the physical. I began searching scripture: 'before you were born, I knew you'. I would be like, 'Great, God I think so too BUT...'.
'You are fearfully and wonderfully made by God'.
'You are a royal diadem'. I would look and say, 'that could never be, I just feel so ordinary, in fact I feel like nothing'

AGREEING TO CHANGE MY MIND
One day, I decided to agree with God because, really how smart can you get that you would become smarter than God. As I began to say these words from scripture I began to change externally, I don't think my face changed but I began to glow so much so that it wasn't just about my features, I began to exude a confidence that was beyond my physical features which are great but wasn't enough to give me confidence. I began to value who I was on the inside so that I wasn't just a merchandise on the shelf. I began to value me so that when the crazy folks in the world came with their criticisms, I would laugh like they were crazy.

BELIEVING WHAT GOD SAID
When I came to know the beauty of God inside me, it helped me appreciate the beauty of God in others and to speak a word of encouragement, life, if you believe, into another person without thinking of what I was going to benefit (there was never a selfish reason). I got to know the beauty of the Holy Ghost and how that He cared about me for no personal reason that would benefit Him but for the sake of me. It was so unselfish I couldn't believe it. Knowing the Holy Ghost helped me start considering others. I am still a work in progress and I am glad at the way the Holy Spirit still keeps growing me and increasing me.

MY OWN QUESTION
My own question is simple. It is this.
What would you do with your life (It can't be something that is selfish, it has got to be selfless) if you knew that you couldn't fail at it? If you knew that God would back you and send you the resources that you need all the time, what would you do?

WHO AM I NOMINATING?
My nomination is a mixture of female bloggers whose work I admire and bloggers turned friends who have been very supportive.

Blogging too!

I love blogging. It represents the uninhibited part of me. As a child, I was so impulsive, I would jump up and do an experiment and create something marvellous. Growing up, I knew I would have to lose the impulsiveness or get into trouble.

I also had to learn tact because there were all sorts of nasty people outside the friend circle who did not mind street fighting for no good reason or for what they termed was ‘good enough reason’.
The naturally intelligent ‘me’ did not understand people resort to underhanded means and dishonourable character traits appeared. It was disgusting! It still is, difference is, now I half expect it.

Where is Nigeria's Department of Justice?

Now that I am older, I understand that dishonourable traits and characteristics appear because your opponents/counterparts realise that they can never beat you on a level playing field and so they resort to many crooked practices. Very much like our Nigerian politicians. When competing against a good man, you stretch out your right hand to give a bribe so that another equally perverse soul can pervert justice.
Whatever, this is just an aside.

My blogging topic today is God and His nature and His character.
I know I have said this before but I will have to say it again, after all I didn’t get it immediately I heard it.

A dear friend shared something on social media and the conclusion of the matter was that God will punish you.
Growing up, my siblings and I had a time or two when we said to each other: God will punish you. Afterwards I would lie in bed wondering what form the punishment would come in.
It took me a while after being saved to discover that God doesn't punish. It is man who breaks the hedge. When a hedge is broken, it can be mended.

God is faithful and kind and loving.
Someone would counteract me now and say, God is a consuming fire. Yes He is. He consumed the sacrifice that Elijah put down. It was a sign that He was pleased with Elijah’s offering and then Elijah killed the 300/400 prophets of Baal.
God does not destroy his covenant children. As excellent as the old covenant is, we are not living under the old covenant; we are living under the new covenant. God bless the soul of the man of God who taught me this. He is a man that is not afraid to carry the mandate of God. I pray that the LORD God will strengthen me so that I also will have the power to carry what God says like I am carrying something special. I want to be able to hear God and speak it exactly as He says without feeling the need to add my bravado or feeling so inadequate as if, why would God choose me?

So God is not waiting to punish you with a good thing. God doesn't set traps. If you are not convinced, pray, fast and sincerely seek the face of God; He rewards those who diligently seek Him.
Yesterday’s post was going to be about my stubborn pursuers and the critics who will not let me or my family be; but I have handed them over to the LORD in prayer. I don’t need to deal with what God is dealing with. Thank God the Holy Ghost stopped me in time.

A word from my meditation this morning:
Many church don’t believe this BUT
i.                    God has not called us to dominate other human beings or manipulate them, that is witchcraft. God doesn’t act like that. He gives free will. Study His attributes
ii.                  God asks us to command the things on the earth. Have rule over them using the name of Jesus in prayer.
iii.                About other human beings, He says, we should ask of Him. He is the creator and He is able to handle them perfectly
iv.                God does not call us to revenge, He calls us to forgive and trust Him
v.                  God is written about in the bible. Read the bible and find out who He is. Don’t take my word for it or the word of anyone else
vi.                Don’t trust me. Trust God. Trust His word. He is the one to be magnified

That’s all for now! Until next time, I am living the favoured life God packaged for me and mine. I am content. I wouldn’t want to live any other life.
Shalom!

Blogging things #June

I saw so many sights and sounds
So much to blog about
No time

Now it has slipped away
When there's so much to see, say and do
It is better to catch it in the moments

I have a one-thing I'm building towards
It is something I am passionate about
I'm going to volunteer in that area and see what God says
If He'll veto it or say no wait

Transitions, transitions
So much transformations going on
Started a new job
I'm excited about
Always needing more content

2014 is looking promising
Expecting more God-changes
Of course the people who don't believe in you will always be there
Just don't give them a seat in the living room of your life
Shut the door on them
Leave them outside looking in
Like the wife of the prophet whose cruz of oil wouldn't run dry
Keep them outside

Do let God in
I'm praying for the consciousness to drop all weights
And the things that hold me back
I'm dropping them at the altar
In the presence of God today

This is my depiction of the altar of God today. Don't be limited by this. God's altar is anywhere His presence is. Even in the human body of His submitted child. You are God's tabernacle. You can create His altar anywhere you go.

Always have to admonish myself to live with the future in view
But stay in the present

Okay I finally blogged it.

Cheers.

Have a happy Sunday
Don't let it be about the pews and the people you'd say hello to
Give attention to God foremost
He's alive
And you're in His thoughts

PS. My memory verse read to me by a #Dazzle woman was that I was to speak of His righteousness (Heritage of the sons)

I'm off to get ready for church
I intend to meet with GOD today
I've got some things I want to talk about and hear what He's got to say.
